CWOSSA FOR GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY This year, Camerons girls field hockey team reached an incredible feat of making it to CWOSSA. The team experienced many struggles and triumphs but nonetheless, made it to CWOSSA. In an interview with Gurleen Sumal, a player on the team for 2 years, says; “ Having completed the 2018 FIeld Hockey Season, I would definitely say that it was a very memorable and amazing journey. Joining the team for another year included more memories and many opportunities to play and improve on both individual and team skills along with a chance to make many new friends. It was a sport that requires a lot of commitment but in the end was worth all the hard work and good laughs. Practices ran everyday after school and games would be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On each game day we would face a new school and would work hard to beat the team on both the field and even on the benches. Players on the benches were constantly cheering and our spirit at the side was just as strong as our teamwork on the field which created some of the best memories especially at WCSSAA and CWOSSA. During both WCSSAA and CWOSSA, we had noise makers that we’d use on the sidelines and even came up with new cheers along with the original Cameron ones and kept positivity throughout all games. Especially when we were against some of the strongest teams and competitors such as Bluevale and kept this same attitude during tournaments which ran on Fridays or the weekend which all created some of the best memories whether they were from cheering to playing on the field and working together. Even something as simple as practices and bus rides to our events. Overall the 2018 Field Hockey Season was truly an amazing and unique experience as it was a sport that offered many things such as opportunities to play, improvements on skills, new friendships, and unforgettable memories like advancing to CWOSSA and that by the end of it we had sore throats. It was a tremendous experience!”. It is evident that from this interview that Field Hockey this year was an exhilarating experience and congratulations to our girls for making it to CWOSSA. GOOO GAELS GOOO!!!
