What is up Gaels! Welcome to the November edition of CHCISTYLE! This months fashion inspirations are Russell and Michael Woo! These brothers walk the halls looking like they just came off the runway. Always sporting brands and unique prints, these two aren't afraid to express themselves to the fullest. Russell describes his style as rather dark, chill and comfortable, while Michael says his style is street-wear influenced. When taking a break from looking like models, these two love playing League of Legends.
Recreate the Look: Russell: Jack and Jones Sweater Only and Sons Flannel Black jeans Virgil Abloh X IKEA MARKERAD bag Shadow 1s
Michael: White collared dress shirt Stussy Crewneck Versace belt 22 Karat gold necklaces CDG Converse
We had the opportunity to speak to the Woo brothers and ask them questions about their street-wear style to get a better insight of how they pull fits together. Here’s the full interview:
What is one piece of clothing you can not live without? Russell: I can’t live without jeans. They’re very versatile and they will never go out of style Michael: I can’t live without hoodies. Hoodies are so warm and comfortable, also it’s an easy piece of clothing to style.
Who’s currently your favorite artist? Russell: A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar. Michael: A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi.
Who’s your fashion Icon? Russell: I don’t have a fashion icon, but I do get ideas from many other peoples outfits. Michael: I look up to lots of rappers for style and take their ideas and put it onto me.
What inspires your style? Russell: I don’t know what inspires me, but I like dark colors. Michael: I get my inspiration from my brother because he’s like a role model in my opinion and he’s really good with style.
Any advice for people who are struggling to express themselves through fashion? Russell: There’s a good chance that people will not remember what you wore yesterday, so wear whatever you want. As long as you like it, everything will be fine. Michael: Sometimes, you don’t need other people's opinion to look nice. The only opinion that really matters is your own, so wear whatever you like.
The warmest thank you to Russell and Micheal for being in the November edition! Hello Gaels! Welcome to the Fashion department in the Globe and Gael. This page will be filled with the unique styles straight from the CHCI hallways. We hope this page provides some outfit inspirations and helps you become more comfortable expressing yourself through fashion!
This month’s fashion icon is Fatima Palacios. This artistic junior has no trouble with putting casual but fire fits together, all while being comfortable in whatever she wears. She describes her look as classy street mixed with 2000s style. Her favorite subjects are Art and English. She also has a great taste in music! Fatima likes to up-cycle old or thrifted clothes, which is not only really fun to customize to your preference, but also very good for the environment.
Recreate the Look: Daniel Caesar Run Time tee Nike track pants Converse X Golf Le Fleur OX Gloria’s Flower Shop tote bag Black puffer jacket
We had the chance to speak to Fatima and ask about her relationship with fashion and art to get a better understanding of her laid back and chic style. Here is the full interview:
What is one piece of clothing you can not live without? Fatima: My shoes definitely because they can improve and complete an outfit. I usually go for simple but bold colored shoes. Who’s currently your favorite artist? Fatima: Daniel Caesar and Frank Ocean.
Who’s your fashion Icon? Fatima: Bella Hadid and Tyler the Creator, they are both very bold and unique.
What inspires your style? Fatima: My creativity and love for art definitely shapes my choice of style.
Any advice for people who are struggling to express themselves through fashion? Fatima: Be bold and unique, do not limit your creativity through your fashion. People always have opinions and what matters is that you feel comfortable and beautiful in what you are wearing. I went years wearing what others wore to fit in but once I started expressing my creativity, I gained such a strong love for my style and finally felt like myself.
A huge thank you to Fatima for taking part in our very first fashion article. You can find her on Instagram at @fatimasimonee.
